Moulin Rouge
French Theme Entertainment

As guests arrive they will be greeted by
Toulouse Lautrec the famous French artist and other Characters
that you would see hang out at the Moulin Rouge; Can-Can Girls,
high society
types and maybe a wisecracking
street walker (ala Irma LaDuce) After dinner we would return to
do the show outlined below. The show with a minimum cast of six
and a stage manager consists of the following:
Four dancers performing three
numbers plus a French Chanteuse performing songs in French and
Songs in English about France and a comedic pantomimist performing
classic French pantomimes.
THE DANCE NUMBERS:
Voilà Paris (Folies-Bergère
number)
Leggy showgirls perform a high-stepping
routine to a medley of well known French tunes ending with a kick
line to "Milord." Choreographed with elements of classical
ballet and costumed with oodles of sequins and feathers.
Thank Heaven For Little Girls
(from GiGi with Toulouse Lautrec and
the girls)
The Voila Paris dancers remain onstage
to pose and smile as they are joined by Toulouse-Lautrec who sings
this happy song made famous by Maurice Chevalier. Very lovely
and very French.
Classic French CAN CAN
We have a traditional all female high-energy
French Can-Can with all the trimmings! The music consists of selections
from Jacques Offenbach's Gaite Parisienne, climaxing with the
familiar kick-line to the rousing finale of Orpheus in the Underworld.
The costumes are a vibrant purple or pink with black polka dots
sprinkled with rhinestones for flash. The dancers wear full circle
black satin skirts with voluminous bright ruffled petticoats.
Fishnet stockings along with old fashioned bloomers are displayed
underneath. High bonnets and mutton chop sleeves complete the
look of the Moulin Rouge. (Premium Can Can costumes pictured above.)
